The sporting sphere has historically been a masculine space, thought of and created, despite early resistance, as a place for men and for the construction, reproduction and demonstration of manhood.

Although this situation is currently changing, we continue to observe dynamics that point to certain sporting spaces (in a broad sense) as scenarios of resistance in the face of perceived threats to the gender order and traditional masculinity.

In this way, in our days, disruptive dynamics that understand sport from a transformative logic in all its potential coexist with manifest resistance to these changes that are perceived by some men as processes that question one of the last anchors of normative masculinity in contemporary societies.
