This feminist talk brings together two researchers who work on gender-based violence from the perspectives of justice, criminology, and forensic psychology.

 

Bio notes

Ana Sani | Psychologist, PhD in Psychology of Justice. Professor of Child Studies. Associate Professor at Fernando Pessoa University (UFP); Coordinator of the Master's Degree in Psychology of Justice: Victims of Violence and Crime; Member of the Centre for Research in Child Studies (CIEC), University of Minho (UM). Specialist in psychological assessment and intervention, particularly in the areas of child victimisation and forensic psychology.

Conducts research on the topics of child victimisation and protection. Studies focus on the phenomenon of domestic violence (children and mothers) and its connection to psychosocial support (psychological intervention and social support structures), security (police forces) and the justice system (child promotion and protection and criminal justice).

She collaborates in the training of victim support technicians and in child protection, as well as in areas of specialisation in justice psychology.

Author of several national and international publications in the areas of Victimology, Forensic Psychology and Criminology.


Gabriela Vergolino | Lawyer. PhD student in Interdisciplinary Studies on Women, Gender and Feminism at the Federal University of Bahia. Master's degree in Law from the University of Coimbra. Scholarship holder linked to the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES). International mobility internship at the Institute of Sociology of the University of Porto (2025/26). Member of the Coordination of the events ‘Olhares sobre Estudos Feministas’ [Perspectives on Feminist Studies], organised by the Sempre Vivas Research Group (PPGNEIM/UFBA). Doctoral project on Indigenous Women Leaders and Access to Social Justice (Start: 2023).
