Transnational Environmental Movements and their Impact on Regional International Society in the Mekong River Region

This doctoral research examines how transnational environmental activism influences governance and development practices in mainland Southeast Asia, with particular attention to the Mekong River region. Focusing on civil society responses to large-scale hydropower projects, the study aims to contribute to a deeper understanding of regional environmental politics in the Global South and the role of non-state actors. This project is funded by the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT), Portugal.
