This seminar is a space for discussion and dialogue on the contribution of the epistemologies of the South to the understanding of the processes of ecocide associated with the globalisation of territories, particularly regarding the specific case of the Cerrado in Brazil.

This event is part of the project "Ecocídio e Globalização dos Cerrados Brasileiros: resistências e lutas dos povos e comunidades originários e tradicionais pelos direitos à saúde e à vida" [Ecocide and the Globalisation of the Brazilian Cerrados: resistances and struggles of the native and traditional peoples and communities for the rights to health and life], in progress at CES, coordinated by the Visiting Researcher Guilherme Franco Netto (Fiocruz) and with the scientific supervision of João Arriscado Nunes.

Title: Epistemologies of the South and Ecocide
Abstract: Articulation of different experiences and practises with the struggle and resistance of peoples and communities in defence of the Cerrado. The process of Ecocide and Ecogenocide of the Cerrado. Abyssal exclusion vs. ecology of knowledges and good living.

Title: Role of the State and legal pluralism in the relation with original and traditional peoples
Abstract: Types of tensions that exist in the relation of the state with traditional and original peoples and communities. Colonialism and capitalism. Destruction of peoples and communities and their ways of life.

3- Larissa Parker - GRAIN/National Campaign in Defence of the Cerrado
Title: Epistemologies of the South from the perspective of the National Campaign in Defence of the Cerrado
Abstract: The ecologies of knowledges and the epistemology of the south in the perspective of the defence of the Cerrado. Knowledge acquired through work carried out with traditional and native peoples and communities.

Title: “Epistemologies of the South and their contributions to social research in public/collective health: reflections under debate”
Abstract: To debate and critically reflect with the speakers on the possibilities, approximations and departures between epistemologies of the South and social research, seeking to produce contributions that support the construction of the methodological praxis of the Research "Ecocide and Globalization of the Brazilian Cerrados".
Keywords: Epistemologies of the South; social research in public/collective health; reflections.
