Book Exhibition
Books against Erasure
June 2 to 30, 2025
North|South Library Display, CES | Alta > Opening: June 9th, 5:00 p.m., North|South Library
During the month of June 2025, the North|South Library is hosting a bibliographic exhibition dedicated to queer methodologies. This is the result of collaboration between the projects TRACE - Tracing Queer Citizenship over Time: Ageing, ageism and age-related LGBTI+ politics in Europe, PULSAR - O papel de profissionais LGBTQ+ para uma saúde inclusiva, and Grupo de Pesquisa em Sexualidades (GPS-CES).
Curated by Inês Lima (BN|S Librarian) and Iuri Garcia Lopes (PhD candidate in Feminist Studies), the exhibition of books from the BN|S collection offers a critical and pluralistic look at methodological approaches that challenge norms and fixed categories in the field of research, through the lens of feminist studies, queer studies, and transgender studies.
In addition, it will include photographic records of the march that took place on 17 May in Coimbra, on the occasion of the International Day against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia (Photographs courtesy of António Coutinho).
The exhibition will be inaugurated on June 9, 2025, at 5:00 p.m., with a public event at the North|South Library, which will feature the presence of the curatorial team, representatives of the involved projects, and GPS-CES.
