On 14 May 2025, the Centre for Social Studies (CES) of the University of Coimbra hosted the of National Associations Council of the European Sociological Association (ESA). This meeting brought together representatives of the National Sociological Associations linked to ESA, with the aim of promoting dialogue, the sharing of experiences and cooperation between the various European sociological contexts.

The meeting was an opportunity to reflect on the diversity of realities that mark sociology in different countries, providing an update on topics such as research funding, academic paths, public involvement and institutional support.  At the same time, CES also hosted ESA's Executive Committee, which met with the aim of reflecting on and planning the next steps in the association's collective work.
